ESPN Number Disconnected, More Eddie Guerrero Coverage

ESPN rarely covers deaths in pro wrestling, but they are covering the death of Eddie Guerrero. Here is a link to an article regarding Eddie Guerrero. It’s filed under the “More Sports” section. It notes that an autopsy was planned today. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/news/story?id=2223654

Vince McMahon was on CNN earlier tonight to discuss the passing of Eddie Guerrero. Here is a brief recap of what went down. Thanks to Erik B. for passing this recap on. Just an FYI on the extent of the media coverage regarding Eddie’s death. CNN has been mentioning Eddie’s story each hour along with their daily headlines. Also, at 6:00pm/CT a live interview was conducted with Vince McMahon. Vince basically reiterated the comments he made about Eddie on the WWE press conference. The anchor-woman, (Brooke something or other) basically probed into the death asking questions related to the possibility that Eddie may have fallen back into drug abuse. Vince shot that idea down stating …”Eddie was at the pinnacle of his career and had everything to live for…” and “…there are no signs that Eddie may have broken his sobriety..”

Batista had the following message posted on his official website, DaveBatista.com. Eddie Guerrero, 1967-2005 I would like to pay tribute to my very good friend, Eddie Guerrero, who sadly passed away on Sunday morning. Eddie was a joy to work with, and I ask you all to keep Eddie’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. We’ll all miss you Eddie! Dave Batista

Michael Polzien notified me that the phone number to ESPN’s customer service office as been disconnected. Apparently, they were getting thousands upon thousands of calls from angry wrestling fans. You guys definitely made your point. If you want to personally call them, try again tomorrow.

You can still CLICK HERE to submit feedback to ESPN.
