WWE Signs A 2005 RAW Diva Search Girl

WWE.com has announced that they have signed Kristal, the former “Price Is Right” Barker Beauty. The former Raw Diva Search contestant will now be heading down to Deep South Wrestling in Georgia to for seasoning in hopes of being a WWE Diva in the future. In this past week’s DSW show, it was said that Kristal valeted the Shane Twins to ringside. Michelle McCool and Angel Williams also train down there so she’ll have some female company.

As for other diva search girls getting signed, it is rumored that blonde Diva Search girl Elisabeth will be reporting to Ohio Valley Wrestling soon. Leyla Milani stated on her official website that she will be shooting a movie called “Wrestle Maniac” next week. It is is a horror movie. It’s about an ex-wrestling superstar who becomes mentally challenged and goes on a major killing spree. It is not known if WWE is interested in her or not although Jim Ross alluded to WWE looking to bring in new female talent in a recent Ross Report and it looks like the signing of Kristal makes his statement valid.

Here is the interview WWE.com did with Kristal…

WWE.com: What did it feel like when you got the call from WWE?

Kristal: I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock. I’ve been praying and crossing my fingers for the longest time. When I got the call I couldn’t even say anything, I just went numb. Then after a while I just wanted to scream, I was so happy.

WWE.com: It’s been a while since the contest. Were you starting to lose hope that you would get a call?

Kristal: I was hoping and writing letters and writing e-mails and calling almost every day trying to get another shot. I just had such a good time doing the Diva Search Contest. And not only that, but I grew up watching WWE and it’s always been something I enjoyed, but watching it can’t compare to actually being there and the feeling you get from it. After a while I didn’t think I would get the call, though. I thought maybe they didn’t see anything inside of me, and I got a little bummed, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised when I got the phone call.

WWE.com: What were some of your most memorable parts of the competition?

Kristal: I tried to basically just do the best I could, not get upset, and just try to have a good time. Nothing is really guaranteed in life, but you can always guarantee yourself a good time. I just tried to go into it with that mind set. My favorite part was definitely the Bikini Bootcamp. The Hot Dog Eating Contest, however, is another story. I just didn’t have my technique down.

WWE.com: Ashley ended up winning the contest. Did you think all along she had a good shot at winning, and what do you think of the job she’s done so far?

Kristal: Ashley had a very strong fan base going into the contest. She’s so deserving of winning, and she’s done a great job so far. I keep watching her every week, and we still keep in touch to this day. Just watching her put herself out there each and every week and getting in the ring, I have a respect for her because that’s not easy. Especially to have been going out there right after the contest.

WWE.com: Do you keep in contact with a lot of the other contestants?

Kristal: Me and Ashley were close, but we’ve definitely gotten closer since the contest ended. I still keep in contact with Leyla and Elisabeth as well, but that’s about it. We were all, for the most part, pretty close.

WWE.com: What was it like being close to the other contestants but still competing against each other?

Kristal: It was competitive, but the nature of the contest this year vs. last year was a little different. This year I think we all had an equal opportunity to compete to the best of our abilities, so there was no need for conflicts. I feel like we were so different, and we all had our own personalities, so there weren’t really any conflicts. Personally, I don’t feel like in order to make myself shine I should cut somebody else down. So, surprisingly we all got along well.

WWE.com: What do you think you have to offer WWE that other Divas might not?

Kristal: I’m very athletic. I’ve been running track since I was 10 years old. I’m very physical. I feel like I have a great sense of humor, and that’s always a great addition any time. I’m a hard worker. I come from a military background; my dad was in the military for 25 years. I’m used to traveling, and I’m very disciplined and dedicated to things I feel passionate about. I think that’s a great addition to any family or business. I think it also helps that I have a true love for the business. I used to watch when I was growing up and remembering that feeling I got when I was watching will help me give a better idea of what the fans are feeling. I think that will help me in the long run.

WWE.com: You were also a Barker’s Beauty on the Price is Right. How does that compare to working with WWE?

Kristal: The Price is Right is classic Americana and so is WWE in many aspects, so really, they were kind of similar. And with both I felt like I was a part of something very big. Being in WWE is the same excitement as being on the Price is Right, but now I get to be a kick-butt chick and do all that cool stuff I didn’t get to do on the Price is Right.

WWE.com: What are some of your goals as far as WWE is concerned?

Kristal: I’m excited and nervous all at once. I’m coming into a situation very fresh, and I have a lot to prove. I want to get down there as soon as possible and train very, very hard and not worry about anything else. Me being a model and an actress, I feel like some people may not think I’m willing to get in the ring and mix it up. I have a lot to prove so I want to get started right away. Long term, I just want to work hard and see where it takes me. I don’t want to jinx anything.

WWE.com: Are there any WWE Divas that you look up to?

Kristal: I really like Victoria. I think she has one of the strongest finishing moves in the entire business. I really admire Christy’s energy and spunk. I think each Diva has something to offer. Right now I see a lot of Ashley’s heart, and I think she’s going to be real huge if she continues to improve and keep showing that heart and dedication.

WWE.com: Do you have a message for your fans out there that will be happy to see you coming back?

Kristal: I just want to thank everyone so much for their support. I will not disappoint you. I just feel like it’s a big dream coming true for a little girl.
