Stephanie McMahon’s strongest backstage ally on the writing team, Sean Conaway, has either quit or been forced out of the company. Conaway started in WWE as an intern at their studios, and didn’t start writing until June of 2004. Most wrestlers backstage thought of him as a spy, as it was rumored he often passed along information to Triple H and Stephanie when wrestlers were complaining or did not like the way they were running things.

Conaway has been blamed in the past for ideas such as making the Tough Enough contestants dress up as women, having Kenzo Suzuki do the stereotypical Japanese karaoke singing, and having Billy Kidman make his TV return on Velocity.

Several people have also blamed Conaway for the demotion of former ECW owner and SmackDown writer, Paul Heyman. It’s rumored that Conaway constantly gave Stephanie information that lead her to believe Heyman was disloyal to her.

Right now it looks like either Stephanie asked him to resign, or he gave his two weeks notice and left.
