RVD On Lack Of Push In WWE, ECW, Monday Night Wars

The following are highlights from Rob Van Dam’s appearance on “Off The Record” (partial credit to PWInsider.com):

*RVD notes that a lot of older wrestlers have always been afraid that he’d come in and change the style, and it’s such paranoia that often prevents him from getting mega pushes.

*In order to return interest in the business to the levels of the Monday Night Wars, Van Dam believes WWE should bring back enhancement matches.

*In fact, if he could book himself in any match for RAW, he’d pick an enhancement talent, building to a match with someone like Paul London.

*Responding to Kurt Angle’s comments about ECW destroying the business, RVD noted that many resented ECW because they couldn’t perform ECW style matches.

*RVD has recovered from his injury and he feels fine. He noted that while his knee has actually been hurt for four years, he doesn’t believe in taking off for mere bumps and bruises.

*He never feared the possibility of getting fired while injured.

*Although RVD enjoys studying matches, he doesn’t watch WWE’s product at home.

*After more general questions and mention of Chris Candido, RVD put over his comic book store to end the show.
