The Latest On TNA’s TV Situation; Wrestler’s Pay; & More

There still remains nothing new to report on regarding TNA’s current TV negotiations with various networks including WGN, Spike TV and Fox Sports Net (again). WGN has been the only network to at least acknowledge talks between both parties, but commented nothing more. TNA really needs to do something on their website as that is their only true outlet they have for the fans with no television at the moment. It amazes me how much they have fallen off the radar with two weeks of no TV scheduled and approaching a third next week.

TNA wrestlers who are currently under contract with the company were called last week by Scott D’Amore personally or another member of the TNA management team letting them know that they still would be paid for the scheduled May 31 TV taping despite it being canceled at last minute. (The Torch)

NWA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles recently commented on a radio show about the possibility of TNA landing a primetime TV deal and how much better the in-ring product would be than WWE’s. Styles felt WWE’s current product revolves around too much talking and that TNA will deliver a solid product. He also said Matt Hardy would be a great fit for the promotion as well as others like CM Punk, Samoa Joe and Matt Sydal. Styles also said that Tito Ortiz knocking out Jeff Jarrett at the Hard Justice PPV didn’t undermind his title victory and that he was thankful TNA gave him the assurance that he has three years to make money and entertain fans.
