It appears Jerry is attempting to use Hulk Hogan as a way to improve the company, telling Carter that if Jeff (who owns a small stake in TNA) is removed from his position, he would put Hogan in charge of booking instead. There were also rumors that made the rounds last week that Hulk Hogan and Jerry Jarrett would be taking control of TNA and putting Dusty Rhodes and Terry Taylor in charge of booking, removing Dutch Mantel and Jeff Jarrett in the process. These rumors were so strong that some in the WWE office even caught wind of them as well. One TNA wrestler even went on record saying that they aren’t sure about what is going to happen, but backstage there is a sense that something major is about to go down. Other workers feel that although change is good, they aren’t sure if these exact changes would be for the better.
In addition, some TNA workers are said to be very upset after hearing the rumors. Many feel that since Jeff Jarrett put everything he has had financially into the company, he deserves his spot and feel his “millionaire father” is trying to steal it away from him. It should be noted that many are in fear that if Jerry does gain control over Jeff, pay would drop all over the board as his methods in the past are to cut talent pay as much as possible. His defense is that if they are willing to work for it, it is fair pay by definition. Those who are in favor of Jerry taking over feel it is the only real option left as continuing Jeff’s method will never see the company turn a profit and eventually force them to go out of business.
