NFL/TNA News; Taboo Tuesday A Flop?; & More

[Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter]

– Bryan Cox, the former NFL Miami Dolphins linebacker, took part in the TNA-Best Damn Sports Show Period special event on FSN, by being in a tag team with Monty Brown. Cox is a huge fan of Ric Flair, and backstage was begging to get into a spot where he could do the figure four, which he got on Andy Douglas. Cox was said to have done great in the ring, for a celebrity with no training. The wrestlers in TNA enjoyed having Cox around, as he was a big star who respected what they did, and is a big fan.

Cox is the third NFL player to take part in TNA. With Monty Brown a former NFL star, and Brian Ulacher appearing on the show in the past.

– Many view Taboo Tuesday as a flop/failure. The first estimate on buys for the show is 170,000 (a 0.31 buy rate). Most think that the interactive part was fine, but it was the fact that the show was held on a Tuesday which caused the problems.
