Angle Says He’ll Work Odd TNA Spots During Olympic Training

The following is a Kurt Angle interview recap, courtesy of ProWrestling.net and Sean Durkin:

They were emphasizing that he had a “shocking” announcement and it turned out to be that he was training for the 2012 Olympics here in London. It’s the first time that Kurt’s decision has been covered by the media over here. He discussed his decision to try out and it was down to the fact that he missed the competitive edge that ‘real’ wrestling offers.

Angle talked about his disappointments of not negotiating a deal to pursue a career in MMA. He mentioned that he will make the odd TV and pay-per-view appearances for TNA, but as of now he is training for the olympics.

He also noted that he has found an MMA gym in London that he will be using while TNA are on tour of UK next January, and he wants to do an open training session for fans that want to see him train. He ended on the note that TNA ticket sales have doubled on the opening day compared to last year.
