Crossfire Revives Wrestling at Fairgrounds

Crossfire Entertainment proved on Saturday night that wrestling was breathing and living in Nashville.

With over 1,300 in attendance, the fans came back to the fairgrounds to see wrestling at its finest. With wrestlers ranging from the junior heavyweights to wrestling legends, there was a wrestler for every person’s taste.

But every person in the arena knew that they were there for one reason, to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since the beginning, Crossfire Entertainment has worked tirelessly to bring donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to give smiles back to the children and to the families that have needed the joy and the reminder that life is precious.

This past Saturday, the Make-A-Wish Foundation saw one of their own, Big Bubba Perry; go to bat for the children and for the Foundation in the ring. Perry, who has been one of Nashville’s biggest supporters with Big Bubba’s Softball Bash every year, laced up the boots one more time and hit the ring. Many did not know that Perry wrestled in the past and had put the boots up for retirement. But Perry saw that Arrick “The Dragon” Andrews was disrespecting the children and the foundation all through the events in 2011 and Perry made a stand for the children, for the foundation and more importantly for himself.

After getting back in ring condition thanks to “Boogie Woogie Boy” Gary Valiant and with the inspiration of “Franchise” Shane Douglas, Perry would once again let the wrestler out. Hitting the ring, Perry had the glimmer in his eyes that he would be back in the ring, but he knew that even if Andrews would step out of line, WWE Superstar Mick Foley would be there to keep the match legal.

The match would be there to showcase that even though Perry hadn’t been in the ring for over ten years, he would bring that fire back into his eyes and into his match with Andrews. Andrews would be on the offense for the match, but the love and the hope behind Perry would prove to be too much for Andrews.

And while Foley would keep the peace all throughout most of the match, Foley would bring back memories of Cactus Jack, Mankind and Dude Love with the Mandible Claw on Andrews, his trademark shoot-um up and dancing out the arena with the Make-A-Wish Foundation children.

The match brought back many memories to the Tennessee Sports Arena. But the entire night would be one to write home about.

The night started off with a victory for the son of Memphis Wrestling legend Tony Falk, LT Falk with a victory over Crossfire Entertainment newcomer Chrisjen Hayme in the pre-show.

The show would officially begin with the match between “King” Shane Williams and Stylin’ Shane Eden. While Eden would start off the night with a swing, Williams got the victory and retained his status as “King” of Crossfire Entertainment.

The reunion of the Hot Shots, Cassidy Riley and The Natural Chase Stevens, was one match that a lot of fans wanted to see. The duo that would climb to the top on the singles and the tag team circuits, started out tagging with each other, gelled together as no time had passed. They hit the ring to face off against one of Crossfire Entertainment’s top tag teams in The Diamonds in the Rough, Sigmon and David Young. While Young and Sigmon wanted to pick up another victory for their team, the Hot Shots would prove that time can only make a tag team stronger with the victory.

The ladies of Crossfire Entertainment would be up next. Creative director of the ladies’ division, Maria Kanellis, would come to the ring and not only introduce the ladies division, she brought out two of the newest editions to the roster that showed that women’s wrestling was something special. Jessicka Havoc and Allysin Kay brought some of the best women’s wrestling action to the fans at Crossfire and showed that women’s wrestling is a force to be taken seriously. Jessicka Havoc would pick up the victory and more ladies’ wrestling action is in store for March!

The rematch demanded by Wolfie D would come to the squared circle against Brian Christopher. The bad blood between these two individuals has stretched back to Memphis. This duo had plenty of anger with Wolfie claiming that Christopher disrespected his girlfriend. When she would make her presence known at ringside and give the advantage to Wolfie for the victory, it would be discovered that there was no disrespect to a girlfriend, just to PG-13! When the wig was removed, Wolfie D would bring back his former partner, Jamie Dundee, and reform PG-13!

Another knockout match for Hammerjack would be up next. The Crossfire Entertainment superstar has been getting knocked around the Fairgrounds in hardcore matches with some of the best in wrestling. But to this day, he doesn’t know who is sending in his opponents and why the beatings continue. This match would be up against the War Machine Rhino. The former WWE/WCW/ECW/TNA Superstar would bring the pain and bring the match to the fans all over the Tennessee State Fairgrounds Sports Arena. While Hammerjack would pick up the victory, Rhino would send a message with a gore that sent Hammerjack flying! With the show coming up in March, will Hammerjack finally find out who is trying to take him out?

Up next was one of the most heated of rivalries when Kid Kash hit the ring to face off against Jerry Lynn. This pair has spilled each other’s blood all over the world and has brought that blood feud back to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. While the verbal actions before the match would be harsh, the beatings inside the ring would be even more brutal! While Jerry Lynn would pick up the victory, Kid Kash would have the last word to Lynn and to the fans. Watch for more from these men in the future since they are definitely not finished with this feud!

The semi-main would see some of the best action from these former WWE superstars in Carlito Colon and Chris Masters. These men have dazzled audiences all over the globe with their different styles. And while both have been champions, it would be the Nashville fans that would see one of the best matches that Crossfire Entertainment has brought to the fairgrounds. The clashing styles of the duo would prove to make something great to head into the main event. While Carlito would pick up the victory, it would be a victory for the fans to see both men shake hands at the end of the match.

Crossfire Entertainment will be returning to the Nashville State Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 17, 2012, with the announcement of the return of Fit Finlay and the debut of Chavo Guerrero!
