TNA “Against All Odds” Results – February 12, 2012

A.J. Styles vs. Kazarian (with Christopher Daniels)

Both guys are a world of offense to start things off. Styles is somewhat in control early. He throws Kazarian to ringside. Daniels tries giving Kazarian some encouragement on the floor. Tenay says Kazarian seems to be tormented by being forced to do what Daniels asks. The announcers continue to speculate as to what Daniels has over Kazarian. A bit later, Kazarian nails Styles with a real nice one-foot dropkick. Kazarian hits another few kicks and another dropkick for a nearfall on Styles. Kazarian performs a neckbreaker on Styles on the ring aprona. Styles gets a bit of offense in for a few minutes. He hit a super-sweet dive onto Daniels on the floor. Crowd dug that. When he goes back into the ring, however, Kazarian catches him with the Fade To Black for the pinfall victory. Aww shucks!

Winner: Kazarian

Backstage: Christy Hemme Interviews Eric Bischoff & Gunner

Backstage, Christy Hemme is with Eric Bischoff and Gunner. Eric says Gunner would probably like to destroy his son. He says as his father, he feels responsible for putting him in this position. He pretends to get choked up for a bit while talking about the pressure Garrett must have felt trying to fill his father's big shoes. He offers Garrett and Hulk Hogan a chance to throw in the towel. Gunner holds up a towel and says Hogan will need it.

Garrett Bischoff (with Hulk Hogan) vs. Gunner (with Eric Bischoff)

Gunner is the first man to make his way out to the ring, accompanied by Eric Bischoff. Gunner is carrying a towel in hand, and he and Eric promised backstage. They get a little bit of heat from the crowd, but it seems like the crowd is about as excited as I am. Garrett Bischoff is out next, and since he’s with Hogan, he gets a good reaction. But the crowd immediately chanting for Hogan shows exactly who they care about. Tenay even references that the crowd are standing for “the trainer of Garrett Bischoff”. Garrett hits a running forearm and takes Gunner down with a backslide. Garrett locks on a front face lock, and Hogan is vocal for the first time in the match, telling Garrett he’s doing a good job. Gunner fights up to his feet and out of the hold, but he’s rolled up, then hit with an atomic drop by Garrett. Garrett charges Gunner in the corner, but he’s launched face first into the middle turnbuckle, then hit with a clothesline to the back of the head. Gunner hits Garrett with a knee to the back, before bringing him up and beating him back down to the mat for another two count. Gunner chokes Garrett in front of Eric and Eric lays in a slap. Hogan has had enough and he takes Eric out with a big right hand. Back in the ring, Gunner continues work over Garrett with another neckbreaker. Hogan seems pretty concerned, telling Hebner to check Garrett’s neck, so Gunner picks him up, and hits him with an elbow to the back of the neck. Gunner drops a knee on the back of Garrett’s head, and Hogan is pretty concerned still. Gunner tries for another neckbreaker, but Garrett holds on to the ropes, and Gunner falls to the mat. Hulk heads up to the apron with the towel, but Garrett waves him off. Gunner hits a DDT, and lays Garrett out for the three count. Bischoff is shown peeking over the apron, smiling and laughing. I have to say, this PPV went from really good, to really bad, really quickly. Hopefully the main event will bring things back. Bischoff and Gunner make their way to the back, gloating, while Hogan checks on Garrett, with concern on his face, in the ring.

Winner: Gunner
