Brock Lesnar: One of the best returns in WWE history

What an emotionally draining 72 hours for the WWE Universe. Between the Nostalgic Hall of Fame, to the “curtain call” of HBK/Taker/HHH, to Sheamus beating Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds only to see RAW become a chant-fest for DBryan, to The Rock and John Cena addressing the WWE Universe to raucous polar opposite ovations. But perhaps the most shocking and instantly loud was that of the returning Brock Lesnar.

If you think about it, Brock couldn’t have returned at a better time for both parties – WWE is on the look out for nostalgia at every turn, and who better after The Rock than the former UFC Heavyweight champion, who is still young enough and in shape enough to deliver a quality match against a guy like John Cena.

And what about John Cena – now, he’s the ambassador of today’s WWE, facing superstars like The Rock and Brock Lesnar who the fans that boo him idolized years ago. With The Rock gone to do 4 consecutive movies (as he noted during Sunday’s pre-WrestleMania press conference), Brock Leesnar fills the void and can now engage in a rivalry with John Cena.

Don’t expect Brock to be present at every event – he has noted in several interviews while with the UFC that the major reason he left WWE the first time was because of the hectic travel schedule. But, Brock doesn’t have the same commitments The Rock does, which would conceivably free him up for more work with WWE.
