WWE House Show Results (4/19): Cardiff, Wales

A full house, but a VERY young majority which hampered the fan interaction as the kids couldn't really appreciate what harcore fans could…

This was the first time they've had a Titantron in Cardiff.

1) The Great Khali def. Jinder Mahal

Khali was popular with the crowd, though his steps to the ring looked incredibly strained and awkward. Khali wins with the Khali Bomb.

Pre-recorded Daniel Bryan promo. Men joined in with Yes chants while kids responded No.

2) Mason Ryan and The Usos def. Drew McIntyre, Tyler Rex and Curt Hawkins

The Usos teased not having a partner before hometown Ryan came out to an ovation. Drew worked the crowd really well, and in his excitement snapped Hawkins' cane which went flying into the crowd. Ryan got the pin after doing less than five moves.

3) Alberto Del Rio def. Percy Watson.

Pretty much a nothing match. Del Rio won by submission to the armlock after less than two minutes. Whether his short matches are due to just coming off an injury I don't know, but the match only seemed to happen to add star power.

4) Alicia Fox def. Natalya (Aksana Guest Referee)

Same match they've had at every tour date so far. Aksana was a guest ref at the Cardiff show last November too. The Sharpshooter was wasted on the young crowd, though some adults gave it a standing ovation. Alicia won after pushing Natalya over the kneeling Aksana.

5) Intercontinental Championship: Big Show def. Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes cuts the best promo of the night, reeling off great American sporting rivalries because "no great sportsmen ever came from Cardiff, Wales!" Show retaliated by calling Rhodes an aspiring underwear model. Good match. Show wins with chokeslam after Cody avoids the WMD.

Intermission

6) Brodus Clay (w/ Funkettes and  Hornswoggle) and Booker T def. Mark Henry and Christian

All four got great receptions. Good 'welcome back' chant by the hardcore fans to Captain Charisma, who told Booker he was going to attempt the 'Peep-a roony', but ended up attacking Booker before he could respond. A big 'oooh' from the crowd when Brodus got in with Henry. Clay pinned Christian after a Scissors Kick and a Splash. Henry deserted Christian just before the finish.

7) Street Fight: Randy Orton def. Kane

Same match as the previous night with a cane and chairs used. RKO on the chair to win.

8) World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus def. Daniel Bryan

Match of the night. Bryan called Cardiff 'the bowels of England' which got the loudest boo of the night. Some good apron spots by Bryan, while Sheamus near-Hulked-up after taking a barrage of kicks while kneeling. Sheamus wins with the Brogue Kick.

Notes

Incredible number of under-tens past their bedtimes clad in green Cena shirts. Merch stand was only selling Bryan's previous shirt and not the Yes shirt, while the Raw shirts seemed to be selling best.
