After last night's live edition of Impact Wrestling, I figured it would be helpful to outline a few of the major happenings that took place on the show. Check out our exclusive TNA Impact Wrestling results coverage for a complete, detailed recap of the broadcast.
– Austin Aries accepted Hulk Hogan's offer to relinquish his X Division title and challenge Bobby Roode for the World Heavyweight Championship at next month's Destination X PPV. However, before he accepted, Aries convinced Hogan to make this situation an annual occurrence where the current X Division Champion, regardless of who it is at the time, will be given the same opportunity to relinquish their title and challenge the World Heavyweight Champion at that year's Destination X pay per view. They can also remain the X Division champion if they so choose and pass on the WHC match.
– No follow up on the ones behind the Sting attack that ended the show last week, other than Hulk Hogan saying they were investigating and he refused to give those responsible any publicity by running footage of the attack or discussing it further.
– The "secret" between A.J. Styles and Dixie Carter was finally revealed to NOT be an affair, but rather, they were trying to help a drug addict that no one knows or has ever seen before. Claire Lynch, the addict Styles and Carter were trying to secretly help, came out to clear the air and clear their names. Impact went off the air when Daniels and Kaz came down to attack, but Styles got the better of them and exacted his revenge.
