Update: Viacom Walks Away From Negotiations With DirecTV

In an update to our earlier story noting that Viacom and DirecTV talks have "moved backwards significantly," Variety.com is now reporting that Viacom has "walked away from negotiations" with DirecTV in attempts to restore 26 channels with the satellite provider.

No word on when the two sides will meet again to attempt to restore the currently blacked out channels.
