WWE Smackdown Results (8/10) – Jericho’s Highlight Reel Returns, WHC Title Match Before Summerslam?

Bill Pritchard

Jericho says he doesn't have to prove anything, but Dolph said something that triggered him and he's bringing back Y2J! He says he accepts the challenge for Summerslam, and he will prove to everyone that he never lost his touch and he never EEEEEEEVER will again. Dolph runs in from behind but Jericho ducks a briefcase shot and knocks him down, then Vickie slaps him in the face and Jericho holds his face and stares at her. Dolph runs back in and drops Jericho with a Zig Zag, then Dolph waits for him to get up and blasts him in the head with the briefcase before leaving.

Number One Contenders Match (WWE Tag Team Championship)
Prime Time Players vs Primo & Epico

Young knocks Epico down and holds him for Titus, then Epico crawls under him and kicks him before tagging Primo into the match. Primo drop toe holds Young on the ropes and follows with a DDT, then R-Truth & Kofi Kingston (at commentary) chase AW into the ring after he throws water at them. Truth and Kofi stomp on AW and Titus as Primo hits a top rope splash on Young, then AW celebrates with his team on the ramp when they are announced as the winners.

Winners (by disqualification) – Prime Time Players

Antonio Cesaro (w/ Aksana) vs Christian

Christian goes for a waistlock but Antonio sends him into the ropes, then Christian throws him outside and goes for a baseball slide kick. Antonio sidesteps him and throws him into the steps, then he rolls him in and gets a two count before putting him in a side headlock. Christian tries to break it so Antonio staggers him with an uppercut, then he hits a gutwrench suplex and kicks Christian in the corner. Antonio goes up top but Christian kicks him on the way down, then Christian clotheslines him and kicks him in the face before going for a rollup. (Cont'd…)
