DOC vs. Joseph Park

The former Luke Gallows (and Festus) makes his way down to the ring under the standard Aces & Eights theme. Joseph Park makes his way out without music, looking nervous as ever. He removes his glasses as the Impact Zone encourages him with a “you can do it!” chant.

Park tries to get hold of DOC’s leg to start off the match, but the big man easily shrugs him off. DOC swings wildly in the corner, but Park ducks under and throws a mean right hook of his own. DOC is pissed off now, but he can’t catch Park. They head to the outside and DOC corners Park around the ring post. He grabs a steel chair, but Park ducks out of the way and steel meets steel, as DOC’s fingers take the worst of the damage. The lawyer takes advantage of that opening, and jams his opponent’s hand into to the steel ring steps.

The two roll back into the ring and DOC takes down Park easily with a kick to the stomach. He takes off his belt and wraps it around his fist, but the referee takes it away. With park still down, DOC grabs that hammer from the outside of the ring and the ref bails from the first sign of danger. Park comes back and tackles DOC before he can take a blow from the hammer! He looks around, grabs the hammer and tries to figure out what to do with it… DOC takes advantage of the momentary distraction though, and clotheslines Park. DOC works over his opponent on the mat with running knee drops and stomps to the abdomen. He hits a running splash in the center of the ring, but somehow Park still has life in him.

DOC tells Park to just “stay down bitch”, but the Impact Zone is willing him back to life. Joe gets back to his feet slowly, and comes out of nowhere with obviously sloppy right and lefts. He connects with a shoulder block, but eats a big elbow in the corner. The referee gets thrown away, and during the short time he was turned around DOC uses the belt to bust open his opponent. Joseph crawls back to his feet and sees his own blood. He stares at the blood in his hand and suddenly becomes deathly serious. He fires up and takes down the big man with a big clothesline and splash in the corner. Black Hole Slam from nowhere, shades of “the Monster” Abyss!

Park “snaps out” of his trance, and tries for the pin, but only gets two. DOC punches him straight out of the ring and rakes the cut on his forehead. The referee gets turned around again, and Park takes the distraction to feed a steel chair right into DOC’s face! 1…2…but DOC kicks out! DOC hits a big chokeslam for the three count.

Winner: DOC

DOC gets the hammer after the match and the referee bails from the ring again. Bully Ray makes the save and chases DOC to the back. He gets in the ring and lifts Joseph Park to his feet. History teases a heel turn here, but instead Bully simply looks into the bloody face of Park and raises his hand in moral victory. A good show of respect.
