Mt. Killamanjaro: WWE Hell in a Cell Preview

WWE Divas Championship

Eve (c) vs. Kaitlyn vs. Layla

Eve: 73%

Layla: 6%

Kaitlyn: 21%

Another majority vote here, in favor of the champion. I really enjoy that there’s a real story in the Divas division, and that it involves a mix of different talents. Eve is good champ; not great, but probably the best option available to them right now. Layla as the former champion makes sense as a challenger. And then there’s Kailyn and her “mystery attacker” storyline that folds neatly into the mix.

I’ve heard some mention that Eve could have been telling the truth when, on Smackdown this week, she denied being the one who sent the “hey, go attack Kaitlyn” text to Aksana. It was probably Eve or Kevin Nash, but let’s say for the sake of discussion it could have been somebody else with a stake in the title picture. A frustrated Natalya, perhaps? It simply has to be Eve; I don’t give WWE enough credit to add a fourth fold into a women’s wresting picture. I’ve got Kaitlyn going over to win the title tonight, though.

Prediction: Kaitlyn, New Champion

Intercontinental Championship

Kofi Kingston (c) vs. The Miz

Kofi Kingston: 93%

The Miz: 7%

Kofi has to go over in this match, and it seems you’ve all caught on as well. Having Miz drop the title on Main Event both puts Kofi over as the Champion, gives him some good exposure, and saves the Miz from the perceived “shame” of losing a title on pay-per-view. And their program has actually been quite good, compared to the recent standard of mid-card title feuds. The pre-match promos and video packages before their match at Main Event was enough to sell me; Kofi is really one of the better mic performers in wrestling, when actually given the chance. He’s as good (or better) than John Morrison in the ring, but he’s got the total package in terms of charisma, match chemistry and promo power. He just needs to be allowed time to show it…

Kof goes over, and hopefully it’s the start of big things for both guys. With three hours on Raw every week, plus Smackdown, Superstars and Main Event they should be able to give Kofi time to talk, and time to wrestle some decent matches every week. There’s no excuse any more. And with rumor that Miz is going to be inserted into a non-title picture higher up on the card, I see good things on the horizon.

Prediction: Kofi Kingston Retains
