In an effort to help support the victims of SuperStorm Sandy in New Jersey, the stars of the United Wrestling Alliance (www.UWAElite.com) will put on a benefit show at the Sportsplex in Metuchen, NJ. The show, titled "Last Breath", will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 7:30 p.m.
"It's important for everyone to help their neighbors in this time of crisis," said UWA Elite commentator Colin West. "This is our chance to support those people who have supported UWA in the past, and a way to reach out to the community at large. It's the least we can do. Please show up and help us do our part!"
UWA Elite President Dave Swan reached out to international wrestling starsMarty Jannetty and Jay Lethal, who were more than happy to help the cause. Jannetty, a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, will be making a special appearance at Last Breath to take on the UWA Elite I-Champion Hedges. Lethal, a current Ring of Honor standout and former TNA wrestler, will be taking on UWA Elite Ironman Champion Myke Quest.
In the main event of the card, UWA Elite Heavyweight Champion Kyle "The Beast" Winant will be defending his championship against his arch-nemesis Cypress. The two UWA originals have faced each other in street fights, no DQ, and grudge matches, and will settle their feud once and for all inside a Steel Cage, with the heavyweight title on the line!
In a huge Steel Cage War Games match, the team of Swag Mean (Robbie Roller, Vin Grayson, "First Class" Brian Brass, DynaMike Davis & "The Shore Thing" TJ Blade) will take on the Holy Kingdom (King Tek, Elder Foreman, Eric Corvis, Dr. John Bowes & TKO). In the 3rd Steel Cage Main Event, "The Living Legend" Archadia will put his reputation on the line against the "High Flying Heart Throb" Drake Chambers!
Other matches include Sean "Damage" McNelis vs. Michael Massacre, independent wrestling legends Magic & Biggie Biggs vs. "Superstar" Jon Rome & Brandon the Bull, and a "Golden Ticket" Fatal Four-Way match between Strife, Matt Demorest, Joey Adams & Tommy "Gunz" Kobryn.
For over 11 years, the wrestlers of UWA have entertained fans during live events and web broadcasts. Since 2010, these stars have created the most interactive, entertaining, and dynamic independent wrestling product in the area, UWA Elite (www.UWAElite.com). UWA Elite has produced wrestlers who have gone on to wrestle worldwide, and for such organizations as WWE, TNA, and Ring of Honor. The unique bond that UWA Elite has with its New Jersey roots brought them back to help raise money for those affected and displaced by SuperStorm Sandy.
The SMG Sportsplex is located at 215 Durham Avenue, Metuchen, NJ, 08840. Bell time for this special UWA Elite event is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15, with a portion of proceeds going directly to Sandy relief efforts. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and/or clothing for donation; those who do so will receive 20% off their ticket price. There will also be volunteers on hand to take donations and a 50/50 is scheduled to help the fundraising efforts.
