Mt. Killamanjaro: 2012 TNA Turning Point Review – TNA Should Learn from Jeff Hardy; Take Risks!

TNA Turning Point Review — @MikeKillam

(1) No DQ Match for the TNA TV Championship

Samoa JoeResults: Magnus threw a steel chair square into the face of the Champion early on, to stop him from flying through the middle rope to the outside. This spot occurred a second time, but Joe instead surprised his opponent by clearing the top rope completely. Both men relied almost completely on power moves; Magnus even kicked out of the Muscle Buster late into the match. Joe would eventually lock in the rear naked choke for the submission victory at 12:29.

Review: A decent opening contest between two of my favorite workers on the Turning Point card. I was disappointed to see them utilize the No DQ stipulation so conservatively, but we get so few gimmick matches these days in TNA I was really looking forward to more of an all-out war between two bitter rivals. It’s possible the battle between these two is not yet over, but as Magnus has lost twice now on pay-per-view, they’re going to need a compelling reason why he’s still next in line to the title.
