Mt. Killamanjaro: 2012 TNA Turning Point Review – TNA Should Learn from Jeff Hardy; Take Risks!

(2) ODB & Eric Young vs. Tara & Jesse

TaraResults: Eric Young returns to TNA to support his wife ODB against the “Hollywood couple” of Tara and Jesse. ODB would single-handedly dismantle the Knockout’s Champion while EY hit a spectacular elbow drop from the top rope to pick up the victory at 5:42.

Review: You know what? I’ll say it… Jesse from Big Brother didn’t do a terrible job in this match. Do I like him, or see any long-term value in his association with professional wrestling? No, don’t be an idiot. But he and Tara make a competent pair when they’re up against ODB! Amidst some controversy and speculation with his contract, it was good to see EY make his TNA return at Turning Point.

Despite what I’m sure will be mad disapproval, sometimes I think it’s good to sit back and laugh at what’s going on in pro wrestling. With him and Santino both, I hear fans complaining, “I just can’t take this guy seriously!” No, really? He’s a grown man running around in several pairs of embarrassing underwear, locking up with fans like a crazy person. He’s “married” to a whiskey drinking, ass-slapping, big-breasted woman who shouts “BAM!” If you’re trying to take guys like EY seriously, you just don’t get sports entertainment. I enjoyed this short match for what is was, and it helps that both Young and ODB are solid in-ring workers, along with comedic gold mines.
