The Stories

We start off Smackdown with MizTV, which I am really beginning to enjoy. The first segment was a flop, but it has gotten better each week. Miz really reminds me of Jericho during these segments because he is an entertainer. The Miz is great in many ways, and his connection (good or bad) with the crowd always gets a reaction. You cannot teach something like that, and his intangables are fantastic. We get his guest Mick Foley, and they have a great back and forth. I am not a huge fan of Foley sticking around, but he does know how to get the right promo out of the right guy. Team Foley comes out, and there is some angst between the men. There are so many former feuds, and I love the fact that they acknowledge them and not shy away from what the smart fan knows. Orton has basically feuded with all of these men before, and it shows you how much of a veteran he is.

Team Ziggler made their way out, excluding Cody Rhodes. Ziggler and Del Rio argue a little, and that was comical to me. They also have so many problems, even though the history is not there. If Ziggler is the captain, why wouldn't he just replace Del Rio? Wouldn't that be logical? That is the only issue I had with this segment, and Damien Sandow is just extremely clever with anything he says. I am intrigued to see the match on Sunday, and this NEEDED to be a big part of Smackdown. We discussed the matches, but this beginning was stellar. Grade: A-

Aside from working with WrestleZone, Isenberg began his career in Broadcast Journalism interning at ESPN and worked with CBS Radio for three years. He has also had the opportunity to interview some of the best athletes and performers alive, including Andrew McCutchen, Ben Roethlisberger, Chris Jericho, Billy Gunn, Karl Anderson, Matt Hardy, Steven Strasburg and others.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
