2/14 TNA Impact Wrestling Results – 8 Men Battle to Become #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship

(5) Austin Aries vs. Bobby Roode

Before the match, Roode announces that once again, they plan to win all the gold in Impact Wrestling to bring prestige and honor back to the brand. Austin Aries tells Hulk Hogan not to mess with their plans. The two of them argue over which one of them is going to take the "poke" and lay down for the other. Aries decides he's going to lay down for Bobby Roode, but he rolls up his partner at the last second and gets a close two-count! The champions brawl as Impact heads to another commercial break.

After the break, Aries tries for a sunset pin over the top rope, but Roode sits down and pins his partner. Hebner realizes Roode is using the ropes for leverage, and forces him to break it up. Aries yells at Roode for trying to cheat his way to victory, and rolls up Roode out of nowhere, also trying to use the ropes to his advantage. The two brawl up to the top rope, and Roode tries and fails several times to lift Aries for a superplex. Aries boxes his ears and sends Roode to the mat, following up with a 450 Splash attempt. Roode rolls out of the way and Aries lands on his feet! Last Chancery connects!

Bobby Roode rakes his oppponents eyes to break the hold, before locking Aries in the crossface in the center of the ring. Austin tranfers the submission into a pin attempt in his favor, but Roode kicks out at two. Both guys do some good counter-wrestling, blocking suplexes, until Hebner accidentally gets taken down. Roode grabs a steel chair, hits the mat hard, and falls down "dead" with Aries holding the evidence. Aries quickly does the same thing, and the two of them argue over which one is "playing dead", and which one got hit with the chair.

Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez come out to distract the champions, wearing Austin Aries and Robert Roode merch. Aries and Roode fight to get back into the ring on time, but in the end both are counted out as the former champions laugh and walk away.

Winners: N/A

After our final commercial break, Hulk Hogan makes his way out and says that it's time to make a decision. He says it's been really hard to decide who is going to face Jeff Hardy at Lockdown, and he's not sure what he's going to do. The entire Aces & Eights group make their way out and surround the ring. Bully Ray limps his way to the ring with a steel chain and gets in the ring. Sting comes out with three baseball bats in hand and passes them out to the faces. The Aces & Eights immediately bail from the ring, and Bully has a stare-down with Devon to end the episode.
