Mickie James Releases New Single, Wade Barrett & R-Truth Comment on Raw Last Night

Wade Barrett posted the following on Twitter concerning his Raw segment last night:

“I don’t know which pillock edited that #DeadManDown trailer together, but it seems he forgot about the film’s main star. Trust me, I play a pivotal role in the film and you will be blown away by my performance. In fact, you should make the most of me being in WWE while you can. Hollywood bigwigs will be clamoring for my signature after March 8th. Anyone else notice the jealousy in @WWESheamus’ eyes tonight? Some people just can’t handle others being more successful and better looking.”

Meanwhile, R-Truth posted the following on Twitter concerning his Raw return:

“Fe Fi Fo Fum this is how I get it! I’m not yo typical run of the mill but I’m sick wit’it!! The Suntan Superman is back!”

Mickie James Releases New Single

The following press release has been issued:

Mickie James’ “Somebody’s Gonna Pay” is the debut single from her upcoming self-titled album on eOne Music Group.

The Jamie Hartford-penned song – a hard-hitting, take-no-prisoners country rocker – is now at radio and available at iTunes. The album Somebody’s Gonna Pay is scheduled for release on May 7.

With the release of the single “Somebody’s Gonna Pay,” Mickie James is creating a new path for herself. An entertainer and athlete since childhood, the TNA Impact Wrestling star – a multi-time world champion – has spent the last decade as part of some of the biggest pro wrestling organizations in the world. And now, she’s taking that same drive, desire and talent to the music world.

“Music is something I’d always wanted to do, and I’ve never held back on anything I’d been dead set on doing in my life,” she said. “I feel like that passion and that drive is what really molds you as a person of character, and people connect with that. It’s not necessarily something you can teach. You either have it or you’re scared of it. I’m not scared of anything,” she added with a smile.

An accompanying music video, directed by Blake Judd and featuring Mickie’s fellow wrestling personalities Trish Stratus and Nick Aldis, TNA Wrestling’s Magnus, will be serviced to country music television outlets and various online sites in the coming weeks.

With her down-home charm and high-intensity performances, the Virginia native has connected with crowds all over the world, both through television/live events in the ring, and with recent performances opening for artists such as Gretchen Wilson, Randy Houser and Montgomery Gentry. Fans also saw Mickie, along with Kellie Pickler, in her label mate Bucky Covington/Shooter Jennings’ video “Drinking Side of Country.”

“There are ton of parallels as far as your confidence and your ability to be able to tell a story, both within wrestling and within music,” said the performer. “With wrestling, you’re running on raw passion and adrenaline. With music, your emotions are more present and your heart goes more into it.

“Making people feel something, whether you’re doing that from the ring or from the stage – that’s what you want at the end of the day.”
