5/2 TNA Impact Wrestling Results – Kurt Angle in “I Quit” Match, Sting Takes on Matt Morgan & More

TNA Impact Wrestling

May 2, 2013

Following a video package recapping the various Aces & Eights attacks last week, Impact general manager Hulk Hogan makes his way down to the ring and calls out Sting to get things straightened out.

"The Icon" makes his way down, and Hogan tells him that he's been caught up in personal stuff between his daughter, and taking care of business. And at the end of the day, he ran off his friends and made mistakes as far as trusting people goes. He extends his hand to Sting, and the two shake. Stinger says that all is good, and water under the bridge, and asks to put together a team to get rid of Aces & Eights next week on Impact Wrestling. Hogan tells him to put together a big six-man tag match for next week's show – Matt Morgan cuts them off.

The "Blueprint" makes his way out, and says he wants to check his crystal ball and predict how this is going to go down. He says it's going to end with Hogan handing Sting another title shot that he doesn't deserve. Hogan tells him to stop running his mouth, and that anybody who wants a shot is going to have to earn it. The Hulkster books Matt Morgan vs. Sting for tonight's main event.

Kurt Angle is backstage, yelling about the Aces & Eights taking over, and makes a "challenge" for later tonight.

#1 Contender's Match

Zema Ion vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Chris Sabin

Sonjay Dutt and Chris Sabin take turns firing away on Zema with right hands, but Ion throws Sonjay from the ring and hits the other with a neckbreaker. Sonjay comes back and hits a baseball slide on Ion, spikes Sabin with a DDT and then hits a moonsault from the second rope. Zema break up a pin attempt, but gets superkicked in the side of the head by Sonjay. Sabin explodes with a clothesline on Zema, and then transitions a powerbomb into the Death Valley Driver on Sonjay, sending him crashing right on top of Ion. A huge belly-to-belly suplex throws Zema on his head, followed by a modified Fisherman's Buster for a three-count.

Winner: Chris Sabin
