Alberto del Rio is the new #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship currently held by Dolph Ziggler, following his "I Quit" victory over Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules.
Originally, Zeb Colter tricked the referee by throwing in del Rio's white towel, causing Mike Chioda to award the victory to Jack Swagger. However, after utilizing an instant replay, the match was restarted, and Alberto del Rio was able to execute the Cross Arm Breaker on Swagger, forcing him to say "I quit".
As we have been reporting, it is likely WWE will give del Rio his title match against Dolph Ziggler on television in the coming weeks, allowing them to continue with their plans going into next month's WWE Payback event.
