Spike TV president Kevin Kay spoke to Sports Illustrated recently on several time shifts the network has, or will be making with TNA and Bellator MMA.
Bellator will move from Thursday nights – its previous time following Impact Wrestling – to Fridays at 9PM EST beginning September 13th. The network considered moving the program to Monday nights, however competition with WWE's Monday Night Raw left Friday nights the most viable option.
Likewise, Kay explained the new shift of Impact Wrestling back to its 9PM EST time was in reaction to the NFL picking up a new licensing deal that will see many more exclusive games moving to Thursday nights.
