ABC News Confirms Philly Interested in Future WrestleMania

6ABC News has reached out to WWE and confirmed that the city of Philadelphia is interested in hosting a future WrestleMania, for the first time since The Rock and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin fought in the main event of WrestleMania XV. Here is WWE's official statement on the matter:

"Philadelphia is one of the many cities that has expressed an interest in hosting a future WrestleMania. An announcement regarding WrestleMania 31 will be made early next year."

As expected, WWE kept their response vague. Earlier this week, Wrestlezone reported that a "major Northeast" city was in the running for WrestleMania 31 in 2015, but the massive Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA has also been heavily rumored to host wrestling's biggest annual event.

As with every year, expect rumors to continue circulating until makes their official announcement on the road to WrestleMania in 2014.
