Randy Orton won the WWE Championship Money in the Bank ladder match at this weekend's WWE pay-per-view in Philadelphia, PA. He defeated five other WWE Superstars in the main event match, including CM Punk, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan and Rob Van Dam. Kane was originally scheduled to compete at Money in the Bank, but was attacked by the debuting Wyatt Family last week on Monday Night Raw.
Near the end, Daniel Bryan was inches away from winning the match. However, Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel took things into his own hands, taking out Bryan and attempted to help CM Punk. Instead, Punk recovered and took out Axel with the GTS. Punk climbed the ladder, but was then turned on and attacked by his former friend and manager, Paul Heyman. Randy Orton then hit Rob Van Dam with an RKO, climbed the ladder and took down the briefcase.
