WWE Champion John Cena has officially named Daniel Bryan as his opponent for the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 18th.
To kick off Monday Night Raw, new general manager Brad Maddox made his first executive decision, allowing Cena to choose his own opponent for the summer bash. The entire WWE roster came to the entrance ramp for the champ's announcement, and several names including Randy Orton, Alberto del Rio and Rob Van Dam were teased.
Eventually, John Cena said that he could not make the choice alone, and listed names to hear the reactions of the WWE Universe. The crowd began a loud "YES!" chant, followed by an even louder "DANIEL BRYAN!" chant. Bryan was then officially selected by John Cena as the #1 contender to the WWE Championship.
