TNA Impact Wrestling Results (8/29) “Must Win Thursday”, Hulk Returns, Makes BFG Changes & Two New Title Matches

We cut to Christopher Daniels complaining about how Hulk Hogan is back, and he's already tried to screw EGO over and Kaz lost his match. Daniels says they also lost ground in the Bound For Glory Series, but Roode says they need to focus and he says he has something to prove against AJ Styles. Roode says Daniels has to focus on beating Austin Aries, then Daniels says he's right and he is going to get payback for Aries attacking him. Daniels walks off and says he'll do this now, then Roode picks up Daniels' forgotten appletini and puts it on a bench as Austin Aries joins Jeremy Borash. He says he didn't join them because he doesn't need them, but JB mentions AJ Styles and Aries says AJ did that for himself. Aries wants AJ to win so he can face him at No Surrender, then Daniels runs in and starts yelling at Aries about what happened last week. Daniels says he is going to get revenge, but Aries says he'll get his cape and kick Daniels' ass right now since he likes superheroes so much.

The Main Event Mafia comes out and Rampage says he needs to get something off his chest, and he wants Tito Ortiz to know he won't wait for their Bellator match. Rampage says he's going to kick Tito's ass any chance he gets, because the rules are different here, and he likes that a lot. Joe says things were different last week, and it wasn't going their way last week because they were outnumbered, then one man rose up when no one else would. Joe says they are here to recognize AJ Styles and what he did for him, then Sting says he proved himself by putting his career on the line for them.

Sting welcomes him to the ring and says their family could be his, then AJ comes out to his 'No One' music but it transitions into his Phenomenal theme and he throws his arms in the air. AJ says he appreciates them being there but he needs to do this himself, then the Mafia leaves the ring and he says he has answers to the biggest question they have. He says he respects the Mafia and he wants them to beat the Aces and Eights, but the suit and tie look isn't him. AJ says he's had some trust issues over the past year, like his friends stabbing him in the back and having the crew air his dirty laundry. (Cont'd…)
