Triple H calls Scott Armstrong into his office and tells him about the problem with his fast count, and he says there's no WWE Champion because of it. HHH says he's a respected official, but he will take care of him and offer him a really nice severance package. Scott looks confused and asks what's going on, and HHH says he has no choice but to let him go. Scott tries to reason with him but HHH says he'll take care of him, then he says he was a loyal employee and pats him on the shoulder.

Randy Orton vs The Miz

Orton attacks Miz from behind as he greets his parents in the crowd, then he punches him a few times and gets backed away by the referee as we go to a break. We get back to see Miz tell the ref he's ready to compete, then he tackles Orton and hits him with several punches on the mat. Orton fights back and sets up a hanging DDT, but Miz backdrops him outside and whips him into the barricade before Orton throws him into the ringpost. The ref calls for the bell as Orton throws Miz over the broadcast table, then he drags him into the crowd near Miz's parents and tries to hit him. Miz fights back with some rapid punches, then he throws him over the barricade but Orton snaps his head on the barricade and DDT's him off of it. Orton drags him in the ring and gets a chair, then he wedges Miz's head in it and kneedrops it before trainers run out and check on Miz.
