15-Minute Intermission

5. Ryback def. Zack Ryder

The match lasted a good while with Ryder delivering his trademark “Woo Woo Woo” followed by his running kick to the face.  Ryback took control and nailed Ryder with the Meathook, and then the Shellshock for the win.

6. The Wyatt Family def. The Usos and Kofi Kingston

Show stealing match which saw The Usos and Kofi deliver a triple suicide dive onto all three members of the Wyatt Family.  The finish came when Bray Wyatt set up Kofi for Sister Abagail.

7. Main Event – No-Disqualification Match: CM Punk def. Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel

The match was scheduled to be for the Intercontinental Championship, but Paul Heyman had rolled out onto the stage with Axel and claimed that he just came out of the 3rd District Court of Illinois and was granted an injunction to make this match into a non-title match. Great match between the two. Punk started out by throwing three steel chairs into the ring. He grabbed a kendo stick and was about to use it but Axel delivered a low blow and stopped Punk short at the time. Great back-and-forth action. At one point Punk used the kendo stick and slapped on a crossface submission with it. Axel made it to the rope but Punk whacked him a few more times with it. The finish came when Punk tried to finish him off with GTS, but Axel hopped off him and grabbed the kendo stick but Punk nailed him with the GTS for the three-count.

Post-Match: He tried to grab Heyman after the match and was about to whack him with the kendo stick but Ryback came out and tried to hit him. Punk saw him coming but Axel nailed him from behind and both jumped on him until Kofi Kingston came out and made the save. Punk generated a lot of cheers when he imitated Stone Cold and started climbing three of the four turnbuckles drinking bottled water that some fans had thrown his way and gulping a la Stone Cold.  There was even a bit where part of Austin’s theme played out.

Great show overall for my very first WWE live event.
