WWE Live Event Results (9/27): Denver, Colorado; Orton vs Bryan, Triple Threat Tag Match

Nick Paglino

Randy OrtonThanks to Brian Underhill for sending in the following:

Fandango Vs. Santino

The night opened with this match. Santino was very comical as the match was light-hearted from the beginning.  After a series of back and forth maneuvers, Santino landed the Cobra for the victory.  Fandango was without escort and spent time in and out of the ring playing the uninterested heel gimmick.

Natalya Vs. Brie Bella

In the second match of the night, the real Divas came out for an appearance.  In what started as a fan vote dance off or match selection, ended in a Natalia sharpshooter for the easy tap out victory.  The dance off was selected but not much enthusiasm from the crowd.  Bella twin tried to dance the Macarena then the robot to some 90’s hip hop song with much heat to start.  Natalia started a stripper-esq type dance to the “Im sexy and I know it” but was song double axe handled to the back of the head to start the match anyway. Bella twin controlled most of the match with the typical yelling fashion at her opponent.

Ambrose Vs. Zack Ryder

Not much to say here.  Anyone who has been following WWE knows who won and in a short work.

Big Show Vs. Cesaro

Big Show controlled most of the match as Cesaro struggled to take the big man off his feet.  Big Show played with a limp to a knee but couldn’t tell if he was using it as a gimmick or really favoring it.  Jack Swagger was ringside and gave support to the fellow American as Cesaro struggled to land the upper hand.  After a series of off the rope attempts to fall the giant, Cesaro was caught with a choke slam.  Big Show won the match but was looking tired and sore.  Brad Maddox came out to inform him that he must now face Swagger.

Big Show Vs. Swagger

Picking up where Cesaro left off, Swagger continued the assault on the knee.  With more of an offensive display, Swagger controlled the beginning of the match.  After a series of standard Swagger ankle locks, Big Show made it to his feet to hit the KO punch on the second real American for the victory.

Tons of Funk Vs. Shield Vs Miz/Kofi

With Brodus and Kofi starting the match against Rollins, they put on some combined moves that were really interesting.  After they threw Rollins out, it was a series of in and out tags with the other two teams.  Rollins and Reigns spent most of the match on the outside of the ring talking to each other, watching the others.  Then they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat much to no one’s surprise to retain the titles.  Overall it was a good match as we set on the front row and was conversing with one of the Shield members much of the match.  He was very humorous and was playing to us, the crowd, very well.

Curtis Axel Vs. CM Punk

This was a No-DQ match that involved kendo sticks, chairs, and almost a table.  CM Punk always works well at live events and did so again Friday.  CM Punk picked up the win with the GTS after a series of kendo stick exchanges.

Daniel Bryan Vs. Randy Orton

Orton was in true heel form.  With Brad Maddox making Big Show set ring side, Orton was working DB throughout the match.  DB eventually gained the upper hand and came back for the win.  This led the Shield to come out to assault Bryan and do the typical group punishment with Orton partaking.  Eventually, Miz and Kofi came out to help with not much luck.  This led to the Big Show clearing the ring and standing tall with DB, Kofi, and the Miz to end the night.
