Former WWE Star Gene “Cousin Luke” Petit Passes Away

Former professional wrestler and WWE talent Gene Petit passed away Saturday morning, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider. Currently his exact age and cause of death are unknown, however Petit suffered from diabetes and multiple sclerosis later in his life.

A former football player from the University of Tampa, Petit befriended Olympic wrestler Dale Lewis and got his start some time in the early 1980s. He joined the WWF as Cousin Luke, a silent member of Hillbilly Jim's "Family", who according to the story did not know how to wrestle. He was involved in programs with the likes of Roddy Piper, "Cowboy" Bob Orton and Jesse "The Body" Ventura, before being released in 1986.

Our thoughts and condolences are with the Petit family at this time.
