Early Viewership Numbers for Post-Battleground WWE Raw; Interesting Note on Last Week’s Low Rating

Last night's post-Battleground episode of Monday Night Raw was up from last week's worrying low, bringing in 3.706 million viewers. This is up slightly from last week's 3.58 draw, which was the worst non-holiday Raw for WWE since December 2012.

Interestingly enough, the same week's episode of Raw in 2012 also did terrible numbers for the company. On October 1st, 2012 Raw did a 2.5 in the ratings, with the show bouncing back up to a 2.8 the following week. One important difference is that WWE did not run two pay-per-view events last October. It is still curious that two years in a row, Raw would draw some of the lowest ratings in company history near the same date, only to recover moderately the following week.

Raw faced competition again the past two weeks from Monday Night Football, Dancing with the Stars, The Voice, and How I Met Your Mother. This week there was actually more competition with the MLB playoffs starting.
