Two-time WWE Hall of Famer "Nature Boy" Ric Flair was flown into Green Bay this weekend to give a pep talk to the San Franciso 49ers prior to the major NFL playoffs game against the Packers Sunday afternoon.
The story has been picked up by all kinds of media outlets, including NFL.com. Flair's support of the 49ers has sparked some drama in professional football, as the Nature Boy is a native of Charlotte, NC where the Carolina Panthers call home. ESPN posted an article just this week on the Panthers adopting Flair's signature "WOOO!" chant to use against opponents, and were hoping to fly Ric in for some sort of pep talk of their own. Should the 49ers win their game against the Packers this weekend, they will meet the Panthers in the second round of the NFL playoffs.
Oddly enough, this isn't the first pro wrestling-related NFL incident in recent news. As we reported, Hulk Hogan sent in a video message in support of the New England Patriots this past week. While several games have to go just right for it to happen, could we be looking at a Flair vs. Hogan battle on February 2nd at Super Bowl XLVIII?
