TNA One Night Only #OldSchool PPV Results & Review: Magnus vs. Joe for the World Title, Bully Ray vs. Tommy Dreamer, Jeff Hardy/Abyss in Monster’s Ball

TNA #OldSchool

tna live eventsThis One Night Only pay-per-view was taped at the end of December 2013, and is available now on PPV, at ImpactWrestling.com and on their official YouTube channel for only $14.99. The theme of #OldSchool is bringing classic TNA rivalries into the modern era. Bully Ray will face Tommy Dreamer, Abyss and Jeff Hardy have another Monster's Ball match, and James Storm goes back to war with Bobby Roode.

3-Way X-Division Match

Austin Aries def. Chris Sabin / Sonjay Dutt

Sabin immediately bails from the ring as soon as the bell rings. Aries wins a lock-up with Sonjay and tosses him to the corner; Sabin yells "you suck!" at him, and is ready to start this match. Aries out-wrestles Chris and takes a rest in the corner, posing on the tope rope. Dutt and Sabin have a conference on the outside and then double team Aries, high fiving and playing heel until Sabin tries to steal a quick roll-up. Sonjay then tries to steal a pinfall, but the heels get on the same page. Taz has already made a Mike Adamle reference. The heels try for a double superplex from the top turnbuckle, but Aries clubs away at both guys, knocking their heads together. Aries with a 10-count of punches on both guys, before diving to the floor with a double-double axhandle on both heels. A missle dropkick finds its mark on Sabin, but Sonjay counters into a tilt-the-whirl DDT. Trouble in paradise now, as Sabin hits an enzuigiri on Dutt and the partnership has ended. Aries with the missile dropkick in the corner on Sonjay, followed by the Brainbuster for the 1-2-3.

Mike's Thoughts: A pretty decent X-Division match between three of the guys who helped pioneer the division over the years. I'd say if Styles, Joe and Daniels were the originals, these guys along with a few others were the B-Team of a time when the title was relevant. It'd be nice to see an actual roster of X-Division stars on television, but instead they just keep bringing Dutt back for these One Night Only things.
