Professional wrestling legend Larry "The Axe" Hennig made an appearance at tonight's WWE Elimination Chamber PPV during the Kickoff show. Hennig accompanied his grandson, Curtis Axel, along with Ryback for their tag team match against Goldust and Cody Rhodes.
During the match, Curtis Axel actually got a decent babyface reaction from the crowd, as the Hennig family resides in Minneapolis, MN, the site of tonight's WWE PPV. This is the first time Larry Hennig has appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania XXIII, when he represented his son Curt Hennig in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2007.
Despite the legend's presence at ringside, Axel and Ryback lost their match to the Rhodes Brothers when Cody Rhodes pinned Axel.
