WWE Issues XBox WWE Network Statement

heyman pipebombAs we noted last night, several XBox users noted that the login issue with the WWE Network had been fixed, and earlier today WWE issued the following statement regarding the problem:

"The WWE Network login issue for Xbox 360 users has been resolved, and we apologize for any inconvenience."

Backstage Update on Heyman's Raw Promo

According to PWInsider.com, WWE made the decision to open Raw last night with Paul Heyman's "pipebomb" promo as the company felt it needed to address the CM Punk chants right at the start of the show. The feeling was that if WWE acknowledged both CM Punk and the crowd chants, that the chants would be contained rather than drown out the whole show.

The report also notes that contrary to what Dave Meltzer reported over the weekend, while some WWE officials did not entirely rule out a possible surprise appearance by Punk last night, he was never written into any script for the show. There were some mentions of Punk, by other superstars, written into the Raw script, but most of them were scrapped.
