TMZ ran two stories this morning – one on TMZ and one on TMZ Sports – both claiming that actor and former WWE celebrity guest Mr. T would be officially inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year in New Orleans. However, at this time the stories have been pulled from their website(s).
TMZ was the first to break news about Hulk Hogan's highly anticipated return to the WWE the weekend of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, so it is quite possible that officials from WWE have asked the gossip column to sit on the story until they have made an official announcement.
Mr. T competed alongside Hulk Hogan in the first ever WrestleMania main event, and again faced "Rowdy" Roddy Piper the following year at WrestleMania II. He has made several other wrestling-related appearances over the years, and pending the official announcement later today, will be going into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame alongside the likes of Pete Rose, William Perry and Mike Tyson.
