WWE Wrestlemania 30 Results (4/6) – The Streak Is Over, The YES Movement Prevails!

Main Show:

Hulk Hogan comes out and cuts a promo about hosting the show, then Stone Cold Steve Austin comes out and says they’ve been having some good times lately. They put each other over and say tonight is the night that the current stars make their name, then The Rock comes out and joins them. The Rock says they are the biggest names in the history of wrestling, then he says the guys tonight couldn’t be there without them. They each say their catchphrases and toast beers in the middle of the ring to end the segment.

BP: Magic. That segment was everything it needed to be and more. Even Hogan’s ‘Silverdome’ flub was worked into it and made it that much better.

Triple H (w/ Stephanie McMahon) vs Daniel Bryan

(winner enters WWE World Heavyweight Championship match later in night)

HHH offers a handshake but Bryan kicks him and goes for a rollup, then he sends him outside and mocks HHH by offering his own handshake. Bryan dropkicks him on the way in and sends him to the corner, but HHH hits him and takes him down with a legwhip. Bryan rebounds by tackling HHH on the floor, then Bryan dives from the turnbuckles and hits a senton before heading back up top. HHH crotches him on the ropes and throws him outside, then he takes apart a commentary table and sets up a Pedigree on top of it. Bryan blocks it but HHH slams him on the table anyway, then HHH drops down on his injured arm and puts him in a hammerlock.

Bryan throws him outside and goes for a suicide dive, but HHH punches his shoulder and suplexes him on the apron. Bryan fights out of a crossface so HHH continues to target Bryan’s arm, then Bryan connects with a flying forearm off the ropes and follows with a German suplex for two. HHH comes back with a double underhook suplex and sets Bryan on the turnbuckles, but Bryan fights back with some headbutts and hits a sunset flip powerbomb. Bryan hits two corner dropkicks before HHH hits a vicious clothesline to block a third, then Bryan blocks a Pedigree with a kick to the head. Bryan heads up top but HHH knees him in the head on the way down, then HHH goes back to a Crossface but Bryan counters with a YES Lock.

HHH forces a rope break, then Bryan sends him outside and hits a suicide dive, followed immediately by a second before hitting a missile dropkick. Bryan repeatedly kicks him in the head and gets a near fall, then he calls for a running knee but HHH hits a spinebuster. HHH follows with a Pedigree but Bryan narrowly kicks out at two, then he tries to steal a rollup before HHH goes for another Pedigree. Bryan reverses with a bridging suplex for two, then HHH goes for another Pedigree but Bryan kicks him in the head and hits a running knee for the win. Postmatch, Stephanie slaps Bryan a few times and HHH clotheslines him from behind, then he slams Bryan’s shoulder into the ringpost and hits him with a chair on the way out.

Winner – Daniel Bryan

BP: Good opener. Suprised it went on first, but not totally surprised given the winner was going to pull double duty. Nice back and forth match.
