We begin the show with a tribute to Ultimate Warrior, followed by a ten bell salute with all of the roster and staff on the stage.
#1 Contender's Tournament (Intercontinental Championship)
First Round – Alberto Del Rio vs Rob Van Dam
Alberto stomps RVD but RVD comes back with a monkey flip and a springboard crossbody for two. RVD clotheslines Alberto outside and goes for a moonsault off the apron, but Alberto sidesteps him and clotheslines him before throwing him into the ring steps. We get back from a break to see Alberto counter a moonsault with knees to the stomach, then he hits a Backstabber and heads up top. RVD catches him with a heel kick on the way down, then he heads up top but Alberto catches him with a step up enziguiri for two. Alberto calls for the Cross Armbreaker but RVD counters with a legscissors takedown for two, then he sweeps Alberto off the ropes and hits a Five Star Frog Splash for the win.
BP: Decent opener. Bigger story is they are having a title tournament! Good news for the midcard. Now, just do something with the United States title or retire it.
The Authority is shown talking to Randy Orton and Batista about dealing with business, and he says Daniel Bryan isn't here but they have bigger problems. He says The Shield attacked him on principle, so there's no telling what they'll do if Orton and Batista try and react. Stephanie says the Shield might look unstoppable, but the three of them can stop them, and HHH says she's right and they are great together. Batista says that's all great, but he just wants to be champion, then Orton agrees and says he already proved himself, and they just don't really care about this.
Rybaxel vs The Brotherhood
Cody hits Axel with a front release suplex, then Goldust throws a few punches but Ryback gets in and knocks him on the mat. Goldust fights out of a headlock and elbows Ryback, then Cody snaps Ryback's head on the ropes and counters a suplex with knees to the head. Cody connects with a moonsault and Ryback rolls outside, then Cody springboards outside before hitting a missile dropkick. Cody catches Axel with a Disaster Kick when he tries to interfere, then he goes for another on Ryback but Ryback counters with a Meathook for the win.
