Daniel Bryan is scheduled to have surgery today on his neck. Dr. Joseph Maroon out of Pittsburgh is doing the operation.

Prior to RAW on Monday, The Wrestling Observer is reporting that very few people actually knew Bryan had been examined for neck problems and had been advised to have minor surgery.

The rumored 'Buried Alive' match with Kane at Payback was expected to be announced on RAW this week. However, most of the show was re-written when it was determined Bryan would in fact be leaving for surgery.

CM Punk Update

A source close to CM Punk told The Wrestling Observer that CM Punk has had no contact with WWE in quite some time and the former WWE Champion is happy now being home.

It was added that Punk was frustrated with booking, payoffs and being on the road.

Why Cesaro & Heyman Were Kept Off RAW

Cesaro and Paul Heyman were kept off Monday's edition of RAW intentionally, says a new report in The Observer newsletter. WWE opted to put Cesaro and Heyman on Main Event in order to continue pushing the Network. It's what they did with Cena last week.
