WWE Live Event Results

Rotterdam, The Netherlands

May 24, 2014

-There was an estimated 8,000 fans on hand for the show, which was WWE's second annual visit after a 20+ year absence.

8-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH

-Cody Rhodes, Goldust, Rob Van Dam & The Miz defeated Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, Titus O'Neil & Jack Swagger. Adam Rose was in the United States with the NXT crew doing live shows, so no progression for their micro-feud. Maybe a good sign for rumors of a Kidd-Gabriel tag team? RVD got the win with a Five Star Frog Splash on Jack Swagger.

-Alexander Rusev def. Zack Ryder. Lana was there, looking good. Folks said Ryder actually got some offense in.

WWE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

-Paige (c) def. Natalya / Tamina.
Said to be a pretty good match, with the champion pinning Natalya. Alicia Fox was on the OTHER tour for some reason, so no live push for their feud either.

STEEL CAGE MATCH

-Big Show def. Kane. Reporter wonders whether the match type was actually legal, since the Dutch government outlawed cage matches for MMA fights. After the match, Kane went to chokeslam referee Mike Chioda, and then Charles Robinson. Brad Maddox came out, and Kane chokeslammed him and hit him with a Tombstone Piledriver to a good reaction.

MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH

-Emma & Santino def. Layla & Fandango. These guys seem like they've been working each other forever. Nevermind WWE television, they've had mixed matches – albeit with Summer Rae – on NXT for the past six months. The babyfaces pick up the win with double Cobra strikes on the heels.

-WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson came out to a great reaction. He is the special guest announcer for the Intercontinental Championship match, as he was the first ever champion. Bad News Barrett came out to give the fans some "bad news", and trashed their country.

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

-Bad News Barrett (c) def. Big E with the Bull Hammer.

-The Shield def. Randy Orton, Curtis Axel & Ryback. Looks like WWE made some subtituations to the program since Batista obviously didn't go to the UK with the crew. Said to be a very good match though, and Roman Reigns went over big with a spear on Randy Orton.
