WWE NXT Takeover Results (5/29) – Breeze vs Zayn, New Women’s Champion Crowned, Neville vs Kidd

#1 Contender's Match (NXT Championship)

Sami Zayn vs Tyler Breeze

Tyler applies an armbar but Sami counters with a diving leg lariat, then he heads up top but Tyler catches his foot and dumps him off of the turnbuckles. Sami lands on the floor but beats the count back in, then Tyler slams Sami's head into the turnbuckles and stomps him. Sami fights out of a front facelock and sends Tyler to the floor, then he connects with a seated springboard moonsault to the floor. Sami throws Tyler inside and hits a crossbody for two, then he slams Tyler and heads up top, but Tyler kicks him in the stomach and hits a DDT for two. Sami comes back with an exploder suplex into the bottom turnbuckle, then he whips Tyler but Tyler reverses it and tries to whip him into the the ref.

Sami stops himself  and goes for a waistlock but Tyler suprises him with a superkick for two, then he repeatedly punches him near the ropes and tries to whip him. Sami holds on and tries to powerbomb him, but Tyler counters with an armdrag rollup for two, then Sami throws him in the air and connects with a shoulder breaker for two. Sami charges the corner but Tyler rolls outside, so Sami changes direction and hits a somersault dive before rolling him in and going for a Yakuza kick. Tyler drops down and covers his head to block, low blowing Sami in the process, then follows with a Beauty Shot for the win.

Winner – Tyler Breeze

BP: I'll go ahead and say it was a creative ending to a fantastic match. Breeze, a heel, won with a smart defensive move and it wasn't dirty. It's good to see these guys wrestle without a dirty finish or interference. Zayn is amazing to watch. If you don't watch this live, go see the replay. I won't say it's better than his match with Cesaro at Arrival, but it's close to matching it.

Rusev and Lana come out and cut an pro-Russian promo, but Mojo Rawley answers them and says he will shove an American flag up Rusev's 'Putin'. Mojo rushes the ring but Rusev knocks him right down and whips him in the corner, then he splashes him and makes him tap out to the Accolade. Rusev attacks him and throws him outside, then he puts him back in the Accolade and steps on his back before leaving.

BP: Typical result from a Rusev match, only it wasn't a sanctioned match. Rusev is an intense guy, but Mojo's got a ton of energy and potential.
