TNA Impact Wrestling Results (6/26) – Monster’s Ball, MVP Fired, Replacement Named!

They mock Abyss on the floor but Abyss rips the cuffs off, then he attacks Bram and calls for a chokeslam, but Magnus hits him with a trash can. Willow attacks with a kendo stick and hits them both with a Twist of Fate, then he heads up top and sets up a Swanton. Magnus smashes a chair on Willow's head, sending him crashing down through the barbed wire board, then Abyss rolls back in and pours thumbtacks on the mat. Abyss goes for a chokeslam but Magnus kicks him, then Magnus gets 'Janice' from the turnbuckle and tries to hit Abyss with it. Abyss blocks it and chokeslams him in the tacks, then Bram hits Abyss in the stomach with 'Janice' and makes the cover.

Winners – Bram & Magnus

BP: This was fun to watch, but nothing more than a weapons spotfest. I mean, it obviously was going to be, but don't expect anything technical here. Hardy hit a few wrestling moves, but other than that, it was a hardcore match. I know it used to have more to it, but what does today's Monster's Ball match have that distinguishes it from an ordinary hardcore match?

Kurt Angle is announced as the new Director of Operations, and he talks about how he doesnt't have any secret agenda and has accomplished a lot. He talks about being there for the fans, then MVP comes out and complains about his replacement, and wants to talk to Kurt man-to-man. MVP comes to the ring with King and Lashley, then he asks Kurt if he fixed all of his personal problems yet. He says Kurt's demons are standing in front of him, and he won't tell any of them what to do, because Kurt is authority, but they are power.

MVP says they should exercise some power right now, threatening Kurt, but Kurt says he will fire them on the spot if they touch him. Kurt says Eric Young will get his rematch against Lashley, then he says he's not done, and MVP will be pissed to know Bobby Roode has been reinstated. Roode and Eric rush the ring and brawl with King and Lashley, punching them in the corner while Kurt stays out of the way.

BP: Good way to keep Kurt on TV. One nitpicky thing though: wouldn't Kurt, or shouldn't he, say that he would kick their asses and THEN fire them?
