Dubai WWE Tryout Camp Gets Press Coverage

dubai wwe tryout‚ÄčAs we previously reported, WWE recently held a tryout camp in Dubai, and The National.ae has posted an article covering the camp, which was overseen by William Regal and Sami Zayn. Zayn was likely in attendance for the camp as he speaks Arabic, and could act as a translator for Regal.

The National article particularly covers wrestler Zaid "Picture Perfect" Khan, a 26 year old British resident of Dubai who has been training professionally for 2 years.

The following is an excerpt from the article:

“I really didn’t think it would happen but my brother kept telling me ‘be ready, they are coming to Dubai’,” he says.

“It wasn’t until I walked in and saw the ring that it actually sunk in. I was about to try out for the WWE.

“[WWE superstars] William Regal and Sami Zayn were here testing us out. It was so surreal.

“The warm-up alone was the most tiring thing ever, and the whole time I was trying not to show that I’m tired. Eight people didn’t make it through the warm-up.”

Khan, who recently completed his MBA, was up against wrestlers from across the region, and India.

“These guys had wrestled on TV in India, they had experience,” he says.

Kahn noted he was one of only 14 people to make it through WWE's rigorous tests, and he said he should be hearing back from the company within a few weeks to see if WWE is interested in offering him a deal.

Was Really Al Snow's Birthday?

As we reported earlier today, the entire TNA roster came out after last night's Impact Wrestling tapings to sing Al Snow happy birthday, but according to PWInsider.com, Snow's birthday is not until July 18th, and the whole thing was a rib done by Devon.

Apparently Devon has been ribbing Snow about his birthday all week, and he grabbed a microphone and insisted everyone come out and sing Snow happy birthday, despite many people having no idea Snow's birthday isn't until next month.
