WWE Live Event Results (6/28): Bangor, ME; Cena vs Wyatt in a Street Fight, Triple Threat U.S. Title Match, Divas Impress, More

wwe live event resultsThanks to Brandon Torrey for sending in the following:

I attended the WWE Live event in Bangor, Maine last night – 6/28/14 – at the Civic Center and boy was it hot. By hot I mean the temperature must have been at least 90 degrees in there. Damn.

But the crowd was very hot from the get go too. Being in Maine, we don't get to see WWE events that often because we had such a small arena, and now that the new one was built, it can house many more and looks a hell of a lot better. Guessing now that there will be more WWE events often here. Anyway…

The show opened up with a lot of advertisements until Justin Roberts announced that later in the night Damien Sandow would face off against The Great Khali in some sort of event – either a "dance off" or a match. It was apparently up to us to vote via twitter and they would reveal it (via drumroll) later in the evening. They had three smaller titantrons (minitrons?) set up on the stage that showed some cool pre-taped promos by Del Rio and The Uso's.

R-Truth defeated Titus O' Neil in a nice opening match. Titus is a rugged guy and has the look of a future champion and workhorse too. R-Truth was so over with the crowd too and he played it up as well. Titus was booed and many people made references to his "Boloss" to Dallas on RAW, (including myself!)

After the match, Harper and Rowan came out and threw R-Truth out of the ring and cut a promo about how they were going to win the tag-team gold.

Sheamus [C] defeated Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro in a triple threat match for the United States Championship. Alberto came out to some decent heat while Cesaro and Sheamus received nice pops. Especially Sheamus. Good Lord it was loud. It was a nice match that featured some interesting comradery by Cesaro and Del Rio. But of course it didn't last.

WWE Divas Champion Paige and Nikki Bella defeated Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes. Awesome divas match with some talented women. Alicia Fox is so amazing. Finally she is becoming noticed. She is honestly gold – in the ring and on the mic. On her way down the ramp she kicked some popcorn bucket out of a fan's hands which was pretty funny. After the match she had her fit and kept hitting the bell and steps with the bell hammer, and argued with some fans and then she chased Justin Roberts and Rosa around the ring to try and get them. I yelled to her that I loved her and she ignored me though. My heart was broken.

The Uso's defeated the Wyatt Family (Harper and Rowan) by a rollup. Good match that the crowd was on fire for. Sad I didn't get to see Goldust and Stardust as they were moved to Portland, but I heard they were fantastic there and the Uso's are quite over as well.

INTERMISSION

After the break Damien Sandow came out and cut a promo about Maine being Canadian scum and that he was going to redo his entrance and when he came back out he wanted the people to cheer for him. He came back out and half the crowd cheered while the other booed. He wore his pink tights which made me happy as I loved when he debuted with his bright color's and intellectual mass. He's got a lot of talent. Khali came out next and looked like he had no idea what he was doing. Big pop for him too. It was revealed that the event was going to be an actual match by the means of a vote from twitter.

The Great Khali defeated Damien Sandow in a cool bout. Jesus aren't Khali's slaps loud.

Rusev with Lana defeated Big E in the match of the night. I'm not even a Big E fanboy either, but I'm not even kidding about the match. It was definitely a close matchup with some decent spots. Big E got probably the loudest pop of the night. Rusev got the most heat by FAR. The crowd was SO into this match and booed the life out of Lana as she cut a promo on Putin who was displayed on the mintrons.

John Cena defeated Bray Wyatt in a "Bangor" street fight. This was a decent main event. We went through 2 tables, the steel steps, and one chair. Pretty cool. Let me tell you something though – that damn Wyatt Family is SO OVER that I don't think there is anyone as popular as them. Holy Sister Abigail. There were a ton of kids cheering for the Wyatt family too and booing Cena! Cena got a nice nice pop when he came out but by the end of the match it was the half and half crowd reaction.

Biggest Pops:

Big E

John Cena

The Uso's

Bray Wyatt

R-Truth

Biggest Heat:

Rusev and Lana (BY FAR)

Alberto Del Rio

Damien Sandow

John Cena

Titus O' Neil

They sold some autographed photo's of Paige and Cena which I thought was cool – I don't remember them doing that at the other live events I have been at. They were still selling CM Punk merchandise as well as Evolution.
