smackdown tapingsThanks to Anthony Ambros of GreatNorthWrestling.ca for sending in the following:

Regarding the local wrestler try outs and the WWE tapings in Canada this week the two notable wrestlers backstage were GNW’s “Platinum” Preston Perry and Tyson Dux among numerous lesser known stars.  None of the wrestlers were looked at in the ring on Monday however Perry guided Adam Rose to the ring with other locals at both tapings.

There were 4 matches in front of Finlay, Mercury and Rodriguez on Tuesday before the tapings including one by Platinum Preston Perry.  The 36 year old Dux had a dark match against Sin Cara on the show.

One of the local wresters was reportedly “basically told off” in front of other wrestlers by Fandango after Fandango’s match due to a mistake the local wrestler had made prior to Fandango’s entrance.

According to fan and wrestler reports there appeared to be between 4000 and 4500 fans at the Smackdown tapings.  Some employees of Telus in the Ottawa area reported that they had been offered free tickets to the taping upon the guarantee that they would “fill the seats” if taken.
