Report by Mike Killam for Wrestlezone.com

-The video quality is awful again tonight. I’m not sure what they filmed this series of NXT tapings with, but it may have been an iPhone.

-The Ascension are out to start the show. They come up from the floor – or at least that’s the way the cameras make it look – so we get to stare at their ugly, glitchy backdrop screen for way too long before they actually show up.

The Ascension vs. Two Local Jobbers

The jobbers don’t get an entrance, or even their names on an overlay, so we have no idea who they are. One of them tries to chop Conner, and he no-sells it. They beat down on him in the corner as the crowd does their “YA!” chant with every hit. They hit him with the Fall of Man for another easy win. Wait…where is the other guy?

Winners: The Ascension

KILLAM: The lack of competition has made me actively DISLIKE the Ascension, and it’s not even their fault. You can only see two guys do the same kicks in the corner, and the same finishing move so many times before you start to resent them. I’m pretty sick with NXT putting them over as the longest reigning champions in NXT history, because at this point it means literally nothing – they have zero competition. Not even an attempt at competition.
